In the first episode ( Heads You Lose ) of Series 9, Kirsty plays the part of Nurse Shannon Hayes. A relationship develops between her and Detective Inspector Peter Pascoe, who had become one of her patients after being admitted to hospital as a result of a car crash. A number of murders had taken place at the hospital, with various body parts turning up in a nearby lake, including those of a friend. Naturally nervous by these discoveries, she is keen to move out of the nurses\u2019 residence and Peter offers her the keys to his flat whist he is recovering.
