Kirsty\u2019s full name is Kirsty Loretta Mitchell. She is the younger daughter of Billy and Loretta and was born on Friday 28th June 1974 in Glasgow, Scotland. She is of Italian and Irish descent. Along with her modeling career, Kirsty trained at the prestigious \u201cCentral School of Ballet\u201d in London from the age of 15 and was an accomplished dancer before turning her focus on acting. It was at the age of 17 that she was crowned the coveted title of \u201cMiss Scotland\u201d.<\/p>\n
Kirsty\u2019s initial break-through performance came as Robert Duvall\u2019s daughter in the film \u201cA Shot at Glory\u201d. Her next lead role, the first IMAX produced drama \u201cThe Legend of Loch Lomond\u201d, led to Kirsty also recording lead vocals for the film\u2019s soundtrack which can be heard in the Media\/Audio Section of this website. She then appeared in the American mini-series \u201cAttila\u201d, as the seductive \u201cPrincess Honoria\u201d opposite fellow Scot Gerard Butler. Next Kirsty starred alongside Campbell Scott and Christine Lahti in the CBS TV movie \u201cThe Pilot\u2019s Wife\u201d. Kirsty\u2019s other major starring television roles have included, \u201cDr Anita Forbes\u201d in BBC\u2019s \u201cHolby City\u201d, Shepherdess \u201cIona McLean\u201d in BBC\u2019s \u201cMonarch of the Glen\u201d, and as \u201cDr Sarah Chatwin\u201d in \u201cThe Royal Today\u201d for ITV. She also starred opposite Jason Isaacs in the critically acclaimed PBS Masterpiece Theatre mini-series \u201cCase Histories\u201d, based on the popular Kate Atkinson novels. Kirsty now has an established, leading role in the BBC1 television drama series, “Casualty”, playing the part of ACP Faith Cadogan. Kirsty\u2019s first motion capture performance came as the role of Russian Bond Girl, \u201cNatalya Simonova\u201d in the \u201cGoldenEye 007: Reloaded\u201d video game. She also provided the voice of \u201cGabriel\u201d for \u201cEl Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron\u201d video game, named one of \u201c2011 Best\u201d. In the same year, she was also nominated for the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Great Scot award for outstanding contribution to entertainment.<\/p>\n
Kirsty taught herself to play the guitar by reading books.<\/p>\n
